Case managers strive to be ethical. They can recite the industry’s ethical principles of autonomy, beneficence, fidelity, justice, and non-maleficence. Yet, the everyday application of these tenets is increasingly complex and challenging. Too often case managers get caught in the ethical crosshairs. Enter Dr. Ellen Fink-Samnick, Case Management’s foremost Ethical Compass.
The Ethical Case Manager: Tools & Tactics: provides a practical approach to addressing the healthcare industry’s most compelling ethical dilemmas to date. Didactic knowledge, innovative templates, original models, and resources are interwoven with real-life case scenarios and contemplation questions. This style allows case managers clear opportunities to directly apply the learning to their work setting, whether as students, novice or more seasoned case managers, as well as those in leadership roles.
